Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

- Responsible for Quality Control related to Road Construction.
- Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
- Responsible for continual improvement to enhance the quality of works.
- Develop training to build quality awareness.
- Support staff to ensure that their projects comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and project specifications.
- Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze failure and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Continuously improving inspection processes and procedures.
- Preparation of QA reports.
- Research and recommend new construction techniques and materials.

Requirements

- University degree from a recognized university in civil engineering.
- Proficient in English, written and spoken.
- Arabic language skills.
- A minimum of 10 years experience with at least 5 years in construction of major road projects including bridges and infrastructure.
- Shall have a proven technical background in testing asphalt, concrete, soil and other construction materials.
- Shall have construction experience in pavement structures, the production of asphalt, concrete, sub base/CBM, asphalt and concrete mix designs including a thorough knowledge of constituent materials, material supply and placing of materials.
- Awareness of pavement deterioration mechanisms and their causes.
- Knowledge of quality standards, applicable codes and laws.
- Experienced in the collection of data on construction projects, the calculation of performance measures, and preparation of reports for senior management.
- Knowledge and experience of planning and implementing quality control on major highway type projects.
- Working knowledge of software packages such as MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
- GCC countries experience is desirable.
- Team player, cooperative with other staff with open sharing of information and knowledge.
- Ability to prioritize own time and manage tasks.
- Must have worked in international organizations with experience working to international standards, new and innovative materials and proven ability to implement new ideas, process and systems.
- Provided QA/QC advice and guidance to peers and support staff.
- Review Contractor submittals such as method statements, materials, QAQC plans, inspection and test plans and test reports.
- Coordinate with the contractor on work schedules to perform sampling and testing as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Perform regular checks of material delivered to the project for conformance with the approved source or supplier. Maintain accurate records and perform statistical analysis on the test results.
