The RoleThe RoleResponsible to Organize, Lead, Plan, and Control All statutory and non-statutory commodities; periodic wall to wall inspection of all materials in stock; Research, investigate and standardize materials where commonality could be identified; eliminate duplications that leads to positive inventory reductions; Maintains Material Classification system; Plans and implements the Quality Management concepts in line with ISO 9000 Series protocol; Proactive role in development and implementation of material preservation plan. To ensure that the Material Master is at all times aligned with the standard unified cataloguing system for all materials (Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation spares for Statutory and Non-Statutory equipment, Chemicals, Catalyst, and Consumables) registered in the SAP. Responsible for Material Standardization of all Stock and non-stock materials. Engineers cost reductions through identifying duplications within existing data as well as future projects and subsequent inventory reduction. Develops inspection plans and coordinate with stock owners for the inspection of procured statutory materials and equipment received at the warehouse, so as to ensure compliance with contractually agreed, and Company established requirements for quality, specifications, packaging and documentation. Responsible to develop and plan coordination with user department for inspections of Return-to-Stock (RTS) items. Coordinate inspection of shelf-life defined items on a pre-defined frequency on a recurring basis.Plans and implements the Quality Management concepts in line with ISO 9000 Series protocol.Identifies all non-compliances with QA and Company standards and oversees physical segregation to Quarantine area. Attends Third Party/Contractor action meetings for vendor/supplier follow-up rectification, instigating necessary corrective actions record the same in QM module of SAP. Supports the Procurement section with Vendor Evaluation requirements. Provides significant input and plays proactive role in development and implementation of material preservation plan, ensuring critical, high value items stored in the Company warehouses are preserved in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and/or Company procedures. Maintains the SAP Quality Module database and associated Standards and Specifications for all Company material. Recording status of all material held in quarantine pending documentation, replacement or repair.Keeps abreast of the latest developments in Quality Assurance and material Codification and Standardization systems, procedures and technology for the possible benefit of the Company.Assists in the implementation of the training and development of Qatari nationals in accordance with established Company policy. Responsible for and liaises with customers to define and format material quality requirements.Using company standard software, analyses material commonality, creates reports, prepares graphical presentations and recommendations.Ensures adherence to all SHERQ policies, procedures and standards to safeguard Company personnel and assets |
RequirementsRequirementsQualification: • Artisan (Millwright, Electro-mechanic, Industrial Technician etc), qualified in the following three disciplines, Mechanical, Electrical, & Instrumentation. • Higher Technical Diploma in an engineering discipline, or equivalent Experience: Ten (10) years experience in materials item identification, codification, standardization, inspection, preservation, and materials master maintenance preferably in the oil and gas related industry. Attained detailed knowledge of materials specifications, and ability to interpret material test certification in areas of metallurgical analysis and hydrostatic-testing. Have the ability to undertake non-destructive material testing including: hardness testing, x-ray spectrometry, M.P.I., ultrasonic and liquid penetrant, plus further understanding of Metallurgy and Welding is an advantage. |
