Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Material Master Maintenance:

- Maintain centrally the Materials Master Database and associated views (Purchasing, MRP, Warehouse, Quality, Financial) in SAP for discipline related company materials after analysis and checking for possible duplicate availability.
- Maintain material specific technical data and ensure that the Material Master is at all times aligned with the standard unified cataloguing system by ensuring the correct item identification, codification and qualitative data.
- Maintain correct and standardized buying description and specifications for the procurement of materials and equipment in order to avoid any duplication.
Service Master Maintenance:
- Create and maintain the companys Service Master Data in ERP system (SAP) by ensuring integrity and standardized abbreviations and qualitative description.
Valuation Classes:
- Maintain accurate Valuation Class in SAP.
- Maintain refurbishment, serialization data.
Data Cleansing:
- Maintain the Item Identification and Codification of all materials contained in the discipline registered in the SAP Materials Master Database.
- Monitor and support the Material Master Database (purchasing description, warehouse views, refurbishments, serialization, batch management and financial views).
- Maintain Standard Hierarchy for Materials/Services and database in SAP for all company Services after analysis and checking for possible duplicates.
Technical Evaluations:
- Perform technical evaluations of quotations and/or technical proposals with regards to materials.
Material Classification:
- Maintain Material Classification system.
- Identify and eliminate of commonalities and duplicates.
Material Discrepancy Report (MDR):
- Review MDRs before passing them to Purchasing/Expediter for further action, and resolve
issues wherever required.
Warehousing Support:
- Provide input to implement material preservation plan, ensure that critical, high value items stored in Companys warehouses are preserved in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and/or Companys procedures.
Data Systems:
- Prepare a large volume of data resulting from various analytical tasks and reviews of material and uploads to SAP Materials, Services and Quality Modules.
Effective Communication:
- Coordinate and liaise with customers to define and format material descriptions by using company standard software, analyse material commonality, create reports, prepare graphical presentations and recommendations.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification:
- 3 Year Diploma in Engineering General Artisan (Millwright, Electro-mechanic, Industrial Technician etc).

Minimum Experience:
- 5 - 7 years experience in materials item identification, codification, standardization,
inspection in the Oil and Gas Sector or Energy Sector.

Job Specific Skills:
- Extensive experience in dealing with vendors, suppliers and contractors in the Oil and Gas Sector.
- Computer literacy,good knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), materials management and reporting systems software.
- Knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
- Good written and oral English skills.
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as a team member.
- Experience in Document Management System using electronic/manual files, photocopy and distribute as directed.
- Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and moving materials, in warehouse environment, if required.
