Materials Manager - Fit-out Projects

Job description / Role

Our client, a leading fit-out company in the region who has state-of-art joinery plant, is seeking to recruit top-notch professional to be Materials Manager and handle the entire materials of the company.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the job holder shall manage all materials flow, procurement function & process, inventories for raw-material, finished goods & semi-finished goods, cost, warehouses and all material related transactions.

In addition, the he should be fully responsible for materials planning, scheduling and shipping to either the company warehouses or to the sites in order to ensure that clients & projects orders are fulfilled on time.

Accordingly, the job-holder shall:
- Develop and implement material schedule planning process, best practices that support inventory, forecasting, purchasing and material control.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategy that meets the company overall objectives.
- Coordinate with other functions in regard to material sample submittals that most support the clients demand & take the same into consideration at tender stage.
- Participate in papering materials budget and schedule expenditures.
- Conduct the necessary analysis related to variances & took corrective actions accordingly.
- Ensure effective and professional relationship with existing & potential suppliers
- Ensure control over cost, quality and delivery time.
- Work closely with Warehouse, Engineering, Manufacturing, Projects and Quality to achieve overall objectives of the company
- Supervise production scheduling activities by monitoring martial inventories and act accordingly.
- Ensure that all company process and procedures are met across the function process

Requirements

- Should have bachelor degree in management or any other related discipline, having Master degree is a certain plus.
- Should have at least 6 years of work experience in the area of materials sourcing & management gained from being working with design & manufacturing entity. Having experience with fit-out manufacturer & designer is a certain plus
- Should demonstrate in-depth knowledge about who is who in the market it terms of suppliers
- Possess good knowledge about materials.
- Should be able to source materials locally, regionally and internationally.
- Should have fair & general idea about the prices of normally used materials.
- Should have fair & general idea about specification of normally used materials.
- Should have the ability to conduct objective analysis in regard to specifications
- Should to demonstrate ability to source material that most cost effective without any making compromises on quality and specifications.
- Should demonstrate hands-on experience in Total Quality Management (TQM), Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or any other similar environment is a must.
- Should demonstrate hands-on experience and in-depth understanding of ERP/MRP systems that related to manufacturing environment
- Computer literate in MS office including Word, Excel, Power Point & Access
- Should possess excellent communication skill both verbal & written.
- Should demonstrate excellent skills in writing professional reports
- Team player & people skills
