Job Overview:

Based in Dubai, the Materials Planner will be principally responsible for managing and executing the material replenishment process in order to fulfill the customer demands while optimizing inventory levels to ensure the right balance is struck between customer service level and working capital.
As opposed to the more routine ordering cycle in a distribution business model, the project-oriented model can be more fast-paced and challenging, and requires a highly organized and efficient individual with a flair for multitasking.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate forecasts and net demand to determine production requirements and scheduling deadlines.
• Be the single point of contact regarding the scheduling, status, priority, and execution of flow of finished goods from manufacturing network to distribution centers or customer sites.
• Schedule purchasing requisitions in order to meet customer demand.
• Release Purchase Orders following the MRP recommendations, follow up with suppliers for acknowledgement.
• Ensure timely & adequate supply of material; proactively follow escalation process in case of deviations.
• Generate weekly supply plan for sales administration team to generate monthly shipping plan.
• Work in close co-ordination with sales administration team to ensure replenishment requests are clearly communicated to have a high order fill rate.
• Track material movement versus plan, report on forecast or supply gaps, and contribute inputs to the monthly S&OP meetings.
• Run monthly inventory reports to review slow-moving or obsolete materials, prepare & present reports for management review.
• Manage and mitigate excess and obsolete inventory through regional/ global reallocation of supplies.
• Assist in inventory management initiatives to ensure DOS targets and inventory turns are met and maintained.
• Drive Master Data integrity and contribute to data cleansing activities on a regular basis to ensure reliability and accuracy of demand plans.
• Review and recommend changes to key material planning parameters like safety stock, lead times, and replenishment methods.
• Determine root causes for material shortages, and implement permanent corrective action.

Requirements

Essential Skills/ Requirements
• Proficient knowledge of a renowned MRP system such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, SAGE, MAPICS.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for analysis, planning & reporting.
• Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, with capability to query systems, extract data, and complete complex supply chain analysis.
• 2 or more years of Supply Chain experience, preferably as a Material/ Demand/ Supply Planner.
• Fluent written and spoken English communication skills.

Qualifications:
• Bachelors in Business Administration, Accounting or Operations educational background
• Additional certification courses in Supply Chain/ Material Management will be an advantage
