Responsibilities Include:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, service, rebuild, overhaul, and repair heavy wheeled vehicle systems.
- Ensure that all maintenance servicing, rebuilds, overhauls, and repairs are accomplished in accordance with the manufacturers technical manuals and the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Perform quality maintenance repairs as part of the ISO 9001:2008 program.
- Perform technical inspections in order to determine the extent of repairs, repair parts required, and cost of repairs.
- Perform troubleshooting using special tools, diagnostic test equipment, and test benches.
- Perform spare parts research using the manufacturers repair parts catalogue, and ensure that only the repair parts required are requisitioned in the appropriate quantities.
- Repair or replace major assemblies (diesel and gasoline engines, manual and automatic transmissions, transfer cases, differentials) and their associated subsystems (starters, alternators, brakes, and suspension components).
- Align, adjust, and calibrate all aspects of heavy wheeled vehicles, using special tools, diagnostic test equipment, and test benches.
- Perform servicing in accordance with all directives and manufacturers technical manuals.
- Complete maintenance-related documentation such as work orders, repair parts request forms, and technical data sheets. Record maintenance-related data such as work accomplished, hours associated with accomplishing work, repair parts requirements, and vehicle-specific information.
- Comply with all safety, housekeeping, and environmental directives.
- Ensure all issued tools, uniforms, and personal protective equipment (PPE) are accounted for, maintained, and secured.
- Ensure all residual serviceable spare parts are returned to the Main Store 2710.
- Ensure all unserviceable direct exchange spare parts are returned to the Repairable Store 2711.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor, Heavy Vehicle.

Requirements

- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- 1-3 years previous experience performing both preventive and unscheduled maintenance on heavy wheeled vehicles is desired.
- Previous military experience or automotive training is a distinct advantage.
- Formal automotive training is highly desirable.
- Able to interpret complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics.
- Previous experience using diagnostic testing equipment is desired.
- Able to read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to use Microsoft Windows software is desired.
- Have, or be able to obtain, a valid UAE drivers license.
