The RoleThe RoleMain Tasks and Specific Duties: • Design review of Mechanical works of the main facilities of the project including the main conveyance concrete pipelines, pump stations, regulating tanks, HVAC System designs, Welding works, Piping Systems for Buildings and Fire protection Systems • Co-ordinating and making a direct input to his discipline review of Contractor's submittals, in particular design calculation, drawings, specifications, data sheets, procedures, operating & maintenance manuals, installation and commissioning procedures. • Attending inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests and recommend acceptance to the Owner. • Hold design co-ordination meetings with contractors. • Approve mechanical purchase orders for mechanical equipment. • Visit sites for major installation and commissioning of electrical works. |
RequirementsRequirementsThe ideal candidate should have extensive experience (5-10 years) in the design review of mechanical equipment. He will have significant experience of large pumps, valves, fittings, pipelines, steelwork, welding works, Building Systems (HVAC, Plumping ..etc) and appropriate international standards. He will be able to review contractors designs and ensure the mechanical items comply with the contract drawings and specifications. General Requirements: • Mechanical Design Review Engineer will be expected to have a good understanding of the sequence of design review of mechanical works for projects. • Managing of Design review of mechanical works design in an efficient and effective manner to meet the needs of projects. • A good understanding and ability to utilize the various Design Software and Microsoft Office Packages is necessary. • Good communication skills (English Language) are a prerequisite in both oral and written form. This is a Client and Contractor facing role. Therefore the ability to communicate at all project levels is necessary. • A good understanding of using International Design Standards ( PSi, ASTM …etc.) is necessary. • Required Qualifications BSc in Mechanical Engineering |

Our team has been involved in Engineering and Project Management of the Great Man-Made River Project since its inception in 1984.
