Mechanical Engineer – Hospitals

Job description / Role

We require a Mechanical Engineer for the Hospital core team on one of our large-scale, very prestigious medical projects. This role will require a minimum of 10 years post qualified experience including some specific hospital projects (3 years +).

Preference will be given to qualified candidates who can demonstrate experience in the following:

• 10 years + as Mechanical Representative for all matters related to construction quality assurance of all mechanical works on site.

• 3 years + as Senior Mechanical Engineer on large-scale hospital projects.

• Witnessing testing and commissioning of the mechanical works. Assisting with the final inspection of the work and to monitoring completion of the work.

• Reviewing contractor’s mechanical change order proposals and prepare any appropriate recommendations to Resident Engineer for review.

• Capability to review design documents, provide technical guidance and support where required, assisting and contributing to relevant stakeholders, consultants, project managers, clients and contractors

• Reviewing contractor’s mechanical/technical submittals, shop drawings, value engineering proposals, RFI’s and coordination issues.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain successful client relationships.

Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Registration of a recognized Professional Engineering Board such as PE (Professional Engineer) or C.Eng (Chartered Engineer) is highly desirable.

Good command of both written and spoken English is a pre-requisite for this role.
Experience: Prior experience in the Gulf Region would be advantageous.
