The Role


The Role


Focusing on all mechanical equipment the job incumbent needs to provide technical support to the Maintenance Department in respect of problem identification/solving and assisting in operational improvements related to plant/equipment reliability and integrity

Being responsible for the mechanical reliability and availability of the plant

Review and comment on design and engineering work of Engineering Contractors and suppliers

Perform mechanical engineering role in project risk management studies and reviews

Development of the reliability strategy of each unit and functional system

Develop maintenance strategies on functional systems, equipment and auxiliary/component levels

Take the lead with failure analyses to improve reliability and availability

Provide technical expertise and direction to ensure reliability of plant

Ensure right specification and standards are developed for preventative maintenance

Codes and Standards used in petrochemical / chemical Industries (ASME, ASTM, API, NACE etc.)

OHS Act and it’s implications (or equivalent vessels under pressure)

Material selection, welding, heat treatment, inspection, piping and pressure vessel design

Exposure to Mechanical engineering activities during Construction and Commissioning of projects

Requirements


Requirements


Minimum five years of relevant Petro-Chemical experience

Minimum 4 years of experience working on pressure vessels, HP pipe lines and auxiliary equipments, furnaces, boilers, heat exchangers and distillation columns

Experience in Reliability Centred Maintenance and Risk Based Inspection

Experience in the implementation of best practices in above areas
