Description and Desired Qualifications
Mechanical Engineer - Doha, Qatar
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Priorities in this role will include:
Delivery of mechanical engineering projects to time
Management of project resource requirements in conjunction with senior engineer
Ability to liaise with design team and site team is essential
Ability to design economical, sustainable and buildable schemes to tight time and budget deadlines
Involvement in office technical activities such as writing design guides.
Mentoring junior engineering staff
Providing the technical production for the design team
Hands on design from inception through to construction documentation
Reports to Senior Engineer/Associate Director
Basic Qualifications
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills:
Experience working in a consultancy and multi-disciplinary engineering / design office Full working knowledge of HVAC systems design and familiarity with energy modelling
Experience with British, American, Qatari and international standards
Good communication and interdisciplinary facing skills
Proven track record of delivering technically sound projects to programme with minimum supervision
Some experience in planning project resources
Ability to provide guidance and motivation to technicians who are working alongside on various projects
Experience with QSAS, LEED or other recognized sustainable design guidelines for the region
Familiar with main software packages such as HEVACOMP, IES, HAP etc
Familiar with and able to assist in the compilation of QCS, NBS, CSI and HVAC and Public Health specifications
