Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A leading global consultancy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for position in Jeddah.
 
This will be an excellent opportunity to work in a multi-cultural and professional team on a large scale infrastructure project.
 
The main duties of the Mechanical Engineer include, but are not limited to:
 
Draft new or update existing Mechanical  specification clauses,
Review Tender and Contract documents prepared for Mechanical  work prior to Tender invitation and award,
To prepare design reports and budget estimate for Mechanical work
To be familiar with the various types of international conditions of contract e.g. FIDIC
Liaise with clients to obtain feedback on Mechanical  matters
Ensure design and documents are prepared as per the brief from the client.
Assist in matters regarding building permits on M&E issues
Liaison with the design team  on all technical aspects with regards to mechanical  matters and updating specifications whenever is required
To apply new technologies as required to mechanical  issues and update / advise as necessary
Apply quality management system
To be familiar with the financial and admin.
Attend meetings as required eg.technical, financial etc.
Responsible for hydraulic design and selection of mechanical materials and fittings necessary for design work
To be responsible for the preparation of design, specification and tender documents for all mechanical  work
A good knowledge of surge analysis and surge suppression
A good knowledge and requirement in material selection eg:- pumps, valves, fittings etc
To contribute to training needs and H&S issues
Train new and junior staff and act as a mentor and monitor development.
Contribution towards updating the Drainage Design Manual

Requirements

EXPERIENCE
 
Minimum 10 years dealing with mechanical  aspects of Public Health Engineering including pumping stations.
Experience of specification writing, design, site installation and commissioning.
Experience in projects involving government departments; public and private organisations.
Culturally sensitive with experience in operating in a multicultural environment.
Sound written and verbal communication skills together with interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain a pro-active and organized approach.
Pragmatic but with good attention to detail.
B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or higher
Must have professional license
5-7 years experience in a renowned consultancy engineering consultancy
Competent at Microsoft Word, Excel and other design software
