Job description / Role
Working as Mechanical Design Engineer in our Engineering Division, you will be responsible for reviewing / developing sustainable building services designs on numerous major projects including commercial, residential, tall tower and mixed-use developments.
This position requires a qualified engineer with knowledge of ventilation and air conditioning systems and a successful track record of delivering detailed designs to the highest international standards.
Preference will be given to qualified candidates who can demonstrate experience in the following:
- Performing engineering evaluations, feasibility studies, conceptual and final design, Value Engineering , cost estimates, and engineering calculations.
- Planning, designing and developing sustainable mechanical systems, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing and gas distribution systems.
- Preparation of mechanical engineering calculations in support of systems design.
- Evaluating and analyzing statistical data, customer design proposals, specifications and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Evaluating design drawings and calculations for HVAC, plumbing components, piping and mechanical systems to satisfy target requirements throughout the design process and contribute to content and direction and submitting Shop Drawings / Coordination Drawings in compliance with project specification and Standard Codes and Regulations.
- Working knowledge of various building services design codes such as British Standards, ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, IMC and other International design codes.
- Experience using computer HVAC design tools, HAP ,AutoCAD, Revit MEP is essential.
- Interfacing and working with main contractors in a professional manner to achieve project goals.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years of experience in HVAC Design.
- Professional registration such as CEng, PE or similar is desirable.
- Bilingual communication skills in Arabic and English would be highly regarded.
