Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

AECOM are currently looking for experienced Civil Inspectors to join the growing AECOM team supporting the Construction of the New Port Project, Qatar. These are Key roles for the Site and provide stable opportunities for Qualified Mechanical Engineers at Degree or Diploma level of studies. The Port Project is a Mega Project for Qatar and will contribute to the upcoming and continuous Infrastructure Development.

Key Duties include:
- Reading and understanding the package contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures, together with any associated updates.
- Ensuring the contractor(s) are complying with the standards and specifications of the contract documents through observation, measurements, and testing as well as tracking quality assurance progress.
- Maintaining records of the contractor manpower and equipment daily resources.

- Undertaking all site supervision and inspections when required or instructed by the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
- Liaising and daily follow up with the assigned contractor to ensure the contractor is managing its resources, health and safety, and equipment needs on the site. Performing daily field inspections.
- Documenting, in the areas assigned to the inspector, the contractors personnel and equipment, activities observed, and associated quantities executed, location of activities, reason for activities, and means and methods utilized.
- Additionally, report on materials delivery and following and implementing any site instructions made by the ARE. Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.
- Follow up and implement any site instructions made by the RE and ARE.

- Prepare any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the RE and ARE.
- Coordinate and cooperate with client project manager during the site inspections in the presence of the RE or ARE.
- Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.

Requirements

- This person will need to have demonstrable experience in major infrastructure & buildings projects ideally within the Middle East.
- Degree or Diploma Qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong Communication skills.
- Experience working in Construction supervision.
