Job description / Role
Our client is a UAE Based well renowned & Leading ship builder and support contractor for all Naval, Military and Commercial Operators in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) needs the following personnel for permanent employment. Candidates for these positions must meet the following requirements:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for performing planned Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) of all Platform Mechanical Equipment/system maintenance activities on board assigned vessels.
JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
- Perform the following to meet different maintenance activities on-board ship Platform system/Equipments:
- Execute PM and CM as per the work order/Job card for all Platform Mechanical equipment and systems.
- Identify and report defects and abnormalities.
- Identify spares.
Requirements
- Diploma/ITI in Engineering or Equivalent with 5/7 Years of marine / offshore experience in similar role.
- Technical knowledge of ships
- Knowledge of how to read and comprehend technical specifications, drawings and setting to work and test and trials procedures.
- Knowledge of ships operations and ship systems
- Knowledge and hands on experience on Maintenance of Main Engines, Compressors, Power transmission, various mechanical systems.
- Experience in Maintenance of auxiliary systems such as Pumps, Stabilizers, RO Plants, STPs, Fuel Systems, Davits, Winches etc.
- Operation of general workshop Machinery
- Ability to use range of test equipments
- Understand isolation process for system and equipment, both live and under test
- Function Testing
- Alignment
- Ability to diagnose system faults from an understanding of plant parameters, fault indications and running conditions
- Should be conversant with Maintenance schedules, Technical Manuals and procedures.
- Should be able to trouble shoot the system; solve the technical issues related to various platform related systems.
Preference shall be given to candidates with hands on experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment onboard Marine/Naval ships.
