Employment: Full Time

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing mechanical installation, checkout and completion tasks as directed by the PC&SU Leader.

Below are the job responsibilities:

1. Under the guidance and leadership of the PC&SU Leader, the Mechanical Technician will inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical equipment as required to support systems completion.

2. The Mechanical Technician will comply with all site safety and housekeeping rules, maintain tools and equipment, and collect and replace tools and equipment required for his work tasks from the site tool room as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Provides support to the integrated PC&SU team by performing mechanical technical tasks in the field and documenting these tasks to support pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up.

During the EPC Phase:

• Will be assigned at the beginning of pre-commissioning to the project’s site office to work closely with the PC&SU team.

• Will work closely with Commissioning team.

During Pre Commissioning:

• Perform mechanical maintenance and/or monitoring tasks as required.

At Mechanical Completion:

• Participate in execution and documentation of mechanical tasks to bring the facility to Mechanical Completion at the direction of the PC&SU Leader.

Commissioning and Start Up:

• Participate in the execution of mechanical commissioning and start-up activities as directed by the PC&SU Leader.

Requirements

Education and Certification Requirements:
High School or equivalent
10+ years experience as a mechanical technician in an industrial environment.
Mechanical journeyman status or equivalent certification is preferred.

Knowledge, skills and experience required for the job:
Minimum 10 years experience in a mechanical technician role on a major chemical or petrochemical project
Spoken and written literacy in the English language
Mechanical certification or license for industrial work
Team work
Interpersonal effectiveness
Communication effectiveness
People Management essentials.
Specific technical knowledge associated with unit operations (tbd)
