Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The candidate should be able to follow strict maintenance and repairs procedures as per specified standards to ensure integrity and safety of mechanical systems and equipment.

Under the lead of the Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor his key responsibilities are:
- For implementing effective equipment maintenance / overhauling of specified equipment in accordance with all relevant company and vendor procedures so as to facilitate maximum reliability, availability and safety of the equipment (pumps, extruders, mixers, reactor and agitators, compressors, blowers, safety valves, rotary feeder, etc.)
- Implement the safe and efficient maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment in accordance with the agreed maintenance and safety procedures.
- Responsible for installation and or modifications of mechanical equipment for use in hazardous and non-hazardous locations, ensuring all safety regulations have been followed.

Requirements

- Trade Diploma in Mechanical Technology or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 3-5 years maintenance experience in petroleum, petrochemical or oil/gas industry.
- Experience required in general mechanical overhaul work specifically in all types of valve employed in the industry.
- Knowledge of extruders, mixers, feeders and high pressure compressor maintenance and overhauling would be advantageous.

Additional Qualitative Data:
- Ability to work with the minimum direct supervision.
- Ability to work in a multi-national environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to read drawings, parts lists and develops bills of material.
- Familiar in the use of miscellaneous hand and power tools for oil and gas/ petrochemical maintenance
- Good knowledge of the rules, regulations and safety practices in the industry. To be aware of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to Oil and Gas industry
- Displays a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently
- Familiar with permit to work systems and risk assessment of pre-scoped work procedures
- Computer literacy is an advantage
- Willing to work in a varied shift schedule including weekends and holidays
- Knowledgeable in rigging and slinging techniques.
