Position is based in Dubai.
Reports to: Group Director
The Director, Planning holds an integral leadership role in the management of the client based media arena and is accountable for:
-Development of strategies for clients;
-Networking operations between local, regional and offices; and
-Supervision of operational staff.
-Responsible for: Supervision and line management of subordinates within the Planning Team (Junior Executives/Executives/ Senior Executives / Managers / Associate Directors)
-Responsible for the implementation of overall media objectives and strategies that fulfil client business objectives
-Lead creation of all important plans and presentations
-Foster cross-agency relationships with account, production, and outside partners
-Translate marketing strategy and goals to meet media deliverables
-Responsible for the day to-today management and operation of assigned accounts and clients
-Provide and/or guide strategic input for all plans internally and externally
-Works closely with media managers to set achievable deadlines and manage process of plan/recommendation development and assist in negotiation strategies
-Review/Approve media plans prior to presentation to media director.
-Develops clear, concise presentations for upper management client media meetings
-Presents media plans to upper management clients and communicates necessary revisions to supervisors for timely plan approval and implementation
-Proactively identifies and evaluates new opportunities to support clients’ business.
-Maintains familiarity with the history, present status and procedures of the client, as well as with conditions in the industry
Leadership & Management
-Provide leadership and guidance to subordinate planners
-Contribute to new business efforts as needed
-Champion integration across all disciplines to achieve success as defined by client;
-Actively participate in all workshops, including Master class and Academy’s -Strong organizational and interpersonal skills necessary to manage complicated processes and cross-discipline teams.
-Strong numerical abilities for data analysis and negotiations
-Competency in using Excel and Power Point
-Effective commercial flair
Knowledge and Experience
-Passionate about the Media Industry & Development
-7+ years media specific experience
-Strong analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail
-Ability to meet stringent deadlines and work under pressure
-Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills
-Creativity in thinking
MBA or Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university in
Business Administration, Advertising, Marketing, Economics, Statistics
- Excellent communication skills Arabic & English is an essential
