Employment: Full Time

The role of Media Director is a senior position within this large, very successful multinational advertising agency which has grown to 110 people within 4 years. The role will focus on a variety of clients.
The position will report directly into the CEO and COO who are both British, as are the two existing Business Unit Directors who focus on other specific key clients.
This is an urgent role and will suit anybody who is looking for a very exciting challenge based in a country that will expand very rapidly over the coming years.

Role Summary:

To plan and implement media programmes. Responsible for managing client’s media buying and planning needs and overseeing the department.

Interacts with ad agents or media representatives, selecting the most suitable advertising options and also negotiating the price of the campaigns. Responsible for not only getting the maximum reach but also ensuring optimum use of budgeted funds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Determine the best media plan for clients based on maximum media effectiveness for the client.
• Deal with media sales representatives and determine where to place ads based on the client's objectives and budgets
• Liase with representatives of advertising agencies, product managers, and corporate advertising staff to establish media goals, objectives, and strategies within corporate advertising budget
• Liase with advertising agents or media representatives to select specific programs and negotiate advertising to ensure optimum use of budgeted funds and long-term contracts.
• Plan and administer media programs
• Adjust broadcasting schedules due to program cancellations.
• Review demographic data and consumer profiles to identify target audiences of media advertising.
• Read trade journals and professional literature to maintain updated knowledge of trends, innovations, and changes that affect media planning.
• Responsible for managing tasks such as purchasing of print space in newspapers and magazines, and broadcast time on radio and television for the clients.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be Arabic Speaking, have previous leading Agency Experience, be a strong media planner and strategist, be familiar with the complexities of the Middle East Media market, as well as used to the fragmented channels of this area.
You must be excited about the opportunity to work in Qatar and be able to relocate there at short notice.
Due to the nature of the clients that you will be dealing with, preference will be given to Lebanese candidates.
