Medical Transcriptionist

Job description / Role

- Transcribes dictated diagnostic imaging reports using computers, word processing, Dictaphones and tapes.
- Follows established standards and procedures for entering the diagnostic results into the Hospital computer system.
- Ensures the accuracy of header and footer input and of the correctness of the body of the transcribed material.
- Transcribes documents such as X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, PET. CT & MRI.
- Angiography reports or Pathology reports. Surgical reports. History and physical reports and other documents related to the treatment, progress and outcome of the patients case as assigned to Medical Lab. Radiation Therapy. Radiology or as applicable to the assigned department.
- Participates in on-the-job training for new employees.
- Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
- Participates in self and others education, Training and Development, as applicable.
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION:
- High school education required.

EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Three (3) years of medical transcription experience required.
- Extensive experience in medical terminology.
- Typing speed of 65 words per minute.
- Valid license from the Saudi Council for Healthcare Specialties.
