Employment: Full Time

With a growing portfolio of successful International brands under management and with a number of new stores throughout the region planned this well respected company is planning further growth through both new brands recently won and new stores this year. As part of this growth they are now seeking a talented Merchandise Planner to be based in Dubai with GCC responsibility for their fashion brand in managing the buying / merchandise cycle for their nominated stores.

Job Description:
- Contribute to development of annual business plans, buying strategies and monitor performance against budget
- Plan and select the range, type, quality and quantity of merchandise according to customer demand, trends, store policies and set prices and sell through targets in conjunction with the Buying Manager to ensure they are in line with the budget
- Analyse market trends, consumer preferences, sell through, seasonal demands etc to formulate a buying practice in line with consumer /store demands
- Review the sales performance of the merchandise and conduct a cost benefit analysis to decide on the quantity and variety of products to be purchased
- Maintain profitable relationships with existing suppliers / principals
- Negotiate with new suppliers on product pricing, payment terms
- Monitor the stock levels in the stores; coordinate with the store personnel to maintain optimal stock levels in line with the consumer demand
- Support the promotional activities in the store and ensure the merchandise is available in time and in right quantities. Receive and analyse reports on the activities and provide recommendations to the Buying Manager when required
- Attend trade fairs to keep abreast of market trends and to introduce a new collection of products
- Prepare periodic reports analysing the sale turnover and consumer trends per product to arrive at a decision to maintain/liquidate/dispose off the stocks and/or continue/discontinue product lines

Requirements

- Minimum of 5 years commercial experience in Retail Merchandise / Planning / Fashion
- Excellent analytical, numerical & problem solving abilities
- Degree educated with a business related Tertiary qualification or MBA
- Strong understanding of working in a volume driven fashion retailer, experience in demand planning, replenishment, inventory management, stock control etc.
- Any experience of working under a license or franchise business would be an advantage
- Defined experience of working with structured planning systems and excellent Excel to advanced level
- Experience with working with European fashion companies highly desirable
- Excellent work ethic and team player are a must
