Job description / Role
A Merchandiser will work closely with a Buyer to ensure the product that's bought will enable them to achieve the sales plan
i. Right Merchandise - Styles, brands, colours, sizes etc
ii. Right Place - Which store, depending on their budget and location
iii. Right Time - Having merchandise in stores at the right time in the season
iv. Right Quantities - Enough for the stores to make their budgets but not have to markdown stock at the end of the season
v. The Right Price - Those that will attract customers in spite of competition yet generate a reasonable return on investment
Responsibilities
• Studying purchase patterns of the clients, fashion and periodic styles for predicting the product sales for the shop.
• Evaluating sales reports of the shop.
• Assessing industry related surveys and testimonials reports
• Coordinating and syncing work functions with the merchandise buyer
• Studying the techniques of competition stores.
• Analyzing and evaluating the sales strategy and the promotional techniques of the shop.
• Evaluating the target and goal of the shop and strategizing to achieve the same.
• Devising ideas and suggestions to attract customers to the shop
Requirements
• Knowledge of the retail industry operations and various products in the marketplace.
• Should possess excellent interaction abilities
• Should have the skills of working in a team and making decisions based on study and assessment.
• Should have excellent time management and the ability to meet the set targets.
