Job description / Role
Marks & Spencer, part of Al Futtaim Retail, is a globally recognised retail brand offering stylish, high quality, great value clothing and home products as well as outstanding foods.
With 25 Stores currently located across the GCC including locations in the UAE, Oman, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar there is further growth planned with additional stores to open in 2014 to further strengthen this exciting brand within the Middle East market.
We are currently looking to recruit a Merchandiser to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for:
* Buying product according to the following parameters: historical data, growth and risk % from the budget process and price structure
* Providing input in agreeing the sales growth and mix % with the Senior Merchandiser within the buying calendars requirements
* Carrying out competitive shopping to compare prices and also to look for products that may be available in the market that would be suitable for a Marks & Spencer customer
* Completing full pricing of merchandise in line with company pricing policy and prior to each seasons launch
* Ensuring all broken lines, poor sellers and seasonal are accurately on COR document to agreed deadlines
* Working with the Visual Merchandising team and Marketing team to ensure accurate availability for all advertising campaigns and launches
* Liaising regularly with stores to capture any feedback for each season and agree space/option planning.
* Ensuring the correct quantities ordered are delivered to the planned availability dates
* Following up late deliveries with the UK and move urgent orders into the import priority list
* Ensuring the order files are updated as soon as new orders are placed/amended with cancellations.
Requirements
To be successful in winning this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
* 2 years of Merchandising experience
* Excellent communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office - specifically Excel
* Knowledge of programming Language (Foxpro, SQL, Oracle, Visual Basic etc..)
* Retail awareness and passion for fashion industry
* Planning and organizing skills
* Analytical skills
