Microbiologist

Job description / Role

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the UAE or Gulf region

Responsibilities:
Laboratory analysis and monitoring of microbial cultures and samples for food products using traditional and specialist technology identification methods and tests
Develop, implement and maintain food safety and quality programs and procedures of the company which include ISO 9001, HACCP, SOP’s and SSOP’s
Ensures that the performance and quality of products in the catering units are compliant with the requirement of the Food Control Authorities
Participate in all internal audits and submit reports
Identifies corrective and preventive actions and follow up implementation and ensure that the risks are mitigated
Work closely with the Pest Control team to eliminate any pest risks
Updating the Quality Management System
Ensuring the laboratory environment is sterile and kept to the highest sanitation standards

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience Required:
3 – 10 years’ experience as a Microbiologist in a food production environment in the UAE
Best practices in Quality Management System
ISO, HACCP, SOP and SSOP knowledgeable
Quality system monitoring and auditing
Report writing
Performance audits

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or Biomedical Science

Candidate Profile:
Aged between 27 – 32 years
Living in Abu Dhabi
Fluency in business English is essential
