Microsoft Cloud and Datacenter Architect

Job description / Role

One of my clients is looking to recruit a Microsoft Cloud & Datacenter Architect with 7-10 years experience to join their team in Bahrain. The ideal candidate should come from a System Integrator Background with expertise in ON- SITE PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION and not support or admin.

Responsibilities:
• Expert level knowledge of private, public, and hybrid cloud in terms of IaaS (Infrastructure as a service and PaaS (Platform as a service)
• Ability to design the architectures for integrating core infrastructure technologies in support of enterprise applications.
• Participate in all pre-sales and post-sales technical aspects of the customer
• Attend Customer opportunity / strategy meetings, including presenting solutions.
• Gathering customer requirements and designing solutions by mapping with requirements
• Technically manage the implementation of proposed solutions
• Keep up-to-date with current and future technologies, products and strategies
• Engagements, including hands-on proof-of-concept, pilot and full scale implementation
• Experience designing and providing best practices for Windows Azure and private cloud network stack
• Experience with Hyper-V virtualization, storage and networking architecture and VPN configuration
• Experience designing and deploying multi node Hyper-V infrastructure
• Experience moving workloads from physical to virtual environments
• Experience with variety of SAN technologies used to support Hyper-V hosts and guest VMs along with Azure storage
• Solid technical background in Data Center (DC) technologies, including (but not exclusive to) servers, storage, virtualization, networking, infrastructure management
• Experience moving workloads from on premise to Windows Azure
• Experience on configuring Windows Azure infrastructure as in DR scenario.
• Knowledge of SQL Server configuration and experience of SQL Azure and moving on premise SQL to Azure
• Experience with Dev-Ops, automation environments and scripting technologies such as PowerShell.
• Experience with data migration methods
• Generic knowledge of system management best practices, scheduling/recovering from SAN array snapshots, complete backup and restoration experience.
• Knowledge of cloud service provider privacy and security including tenant isolation, private cloud security, virtualization security and privileged access management.
