Job Description
The primary purpose of this role is to undertake to manage a an effective team for independent reviews of all account opening and Periodic review assurance on documentation to ensure that Bank policies and procedures are complied with at all times.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. To Ensure team undertakes Account Opening Documentation for both existing and new client
2. Act as the key point of contact for front line staff providing coaching and consultation services on CDD policies and procedures as they apply to new accounts/amendments as detailed above.
3. Manage the failure to comply with Group CDD policies and procedures by following approved escalation processes with discipline and with the back up of accurate and detailed information.
4. Implement new policies and procedures when instructed by compliance/Unit Head, ensuring that documentation and MIS is amended accordingly, Manage the communication of the change to the Front Office and Network Teams.
5. Identify procedural issues that impact on the turn around times achieved in the department. Report to Head of Middle Office, New Accounts, Dubai and work towards providing a solution in respect of the problem identified.
6. To be fully conversant with the Bank's anti-fraud and anti money laundering procedures.
A) Participation in AML/CDD and Sanctions awareness training to develop a through understanding of the key components in preventing money laundering, terrorist financing and sanction breaches
B) Maintain an ongoing awareness and consideration of AML ""Red Flags"" of suspicious activity in order to determine when it is appropriate to raise a suspicious activity report with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
7. To work closely with our Compliance team. When presenting our compliance colleagues with a query to provide a detailed chain of events and make suggestions as to how to overcome the identified obstacle working in conjunction with the PvB CDD Guidelines.
8. To display the SCB values when assisting our colleagues, RM,CSM Network RM's CSM's.
9. To maintain an up to date MO, New Account, spreadsheet ,deferral cases in an orderly accurate manner on a daily basis
10. To provide MIS reports when and as required to Unit Head/Business Analyst.
11. Complete and accurate record keeping of all relevant communication with internal stakeholders in relation to the accounts that being reviewed / processed
12. Comply to agreed Turn Around Times for assigned activities as detailed in the Document Operating Instructions and the Service Level Agreements
13. On occurrence, identify procedural issues that impact delivery of responsibilities with suggestions improvements and work around.
14. Liaise with necessary frontline, counterparts and stakeholders across various Standard Chartered locations.
15. To maintain an ongoing awareness of new policy and procedure roll outs, especially that of AML/CDD

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
1. Excellent knowledge of the Bank's Client Due Diligence policies and procedures;
2. Good working knowledge of Microsoft standard desktop packages;
3. Good communication skills and an ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organisation.
4. Strong customer service mentality with an appreciation of how this applies to both internal and external clients.
5. Good knowledge of core systems and the end to end account opening process.
