The Middle Office will perform a variety of functions on a daily and periodic basis, on a broad basis these will include; Product Control and Risk Control.

Collateral Management services resides within the Risk Control stream of the Middle Office.
The Analyst processes the Mark to Market (MTM) of the portfolio of derivative and repo trades between our client and their counterparties to ensure that our client's exposure to their counterparties is sufficiently collateralised.

The process requires the performance of data integrity checks on trade data received in the collateral management platform and the comparison of exposures with the value of the assets pledged, in accordance with the parameters specified in the legal agreements. Changes in the portfolio MTM (due to market price fluctuations, or new / matured trades) will generate changes in the required collateral balance.
