Midwife

Job description / Role

* Premier multi-speciality hospital in Dubai Healthcare City;
* Looking for Western trained Registered Midwife;
* Successful candidate will provide advanced clinical care within the Active Labour ward, Antenatal Ward and Obstetric High Care Dependency Unit.

Requirements

* BSc. Degree or Diploma in Nursing/Midwifery (minimum of 3 years duration) from a DHCC recognised institute, preferably UK, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, USA, Canada;
Current license as a Registered Midwife

Specialised Skills/Experience/Abilities:

* Minimum of three years Labour Ward/ Ante Natal/Post Natal nursing experience after graduation.
* Two/three years previous experience in a Labour ward with high risk Ante Natal care; preferably in a private hospital
* Trained in Advanced Obstetric life support (ALSO/PROMPT) preferably
* Trained in Advanced Neonatal Life Support (NRP) preferably
* Ability to deliver advanced midwifery care in complex situations (high risk Ante Natal patients in labour).
* Ability to assess, observe, monitor and act (when needed) high risk Ante Natal and patients in Labour.
* Ability to have clear communication with the multidisciplinary team
* Ability to report and document patient progress of labour and any response to treatment/procedures.
* Ability to monitor and adjust medical equipment used in the care and treatment of the pregnant patient.
* Ability to provide emotional and psychological support to the pregnant patient, her husband and her family.
* Knowledge of internationally acceptable standards of maternal and healthy new born care in the labour room (skin to skin) and breast feeding essential.
