Job description / Role
We are recruiting Monitoring and Control Experts with skills in BMC systems for a successful international company in Abu Dhabi specialising in large scale safety and security system integrations.
Ideal candidate for this permanent job opportunity will have broad technology background with extensive knowledge of Enterprise system management and monitoring tools like Altiris, SCCM , Entuity Eye of the Storm, Cisco Works. We are looking for good and effective knowledge of the BMC product line including BMC ProActive Net, BMC Remedy and BMC ITSM and its deployment. Must be ITIL certified.
Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for the ongoing activities of the M&C tools Eye of the Storm, SCCM, Altiris: installations, upgrades, solving problems, vendor’s relationship
• Implement M&C tools for monitoring and controlling the systems, infrastructure, and applications
• Responsible for configure the M&C tools including ongoing inspections and constant improvements capabilities and analysis of: Sensors, communication devices, servers, processes, storage, DB, facility infrastructure systems and applications
• Develop scripts and other solutions for monitoring
• Configure SNMP, NetFlows, WMI, and other monitoring protocols
• Develop an enhance reports for the different teams
• Implement, configure, report on SLA and performance management
• Reduce false alarms
• Implementation and support of tool usage
• Support alert analysis to find the root cause
• Create policy based on M&C tools
Requirements
• BS/MS in Computer Science or relevant experience
• ITIL v3 certification
• BMC Enterprise System Management Tool Certified (advantage)
• Windows (MCSE Certified Etc. is of advantage )
• 5+ years of IT work experience significant exposure in monitoring/management of implementation tools (Altiris , SCCM CiscoWorks , Eye of the storm)
• Expert in above monitoring tools
• Familiarity in Server Management
• Familiarity in Network Management
• Ability to create a customized operational monitoring solution from a standard installation
• Expert in SNMP, WMI, SysLog, NetFlow monitoring and configuration
• Proven experience with enterprise wide monitoring through multiple protocols
• Deep understand of security audit using Syslog
• Broad technology background and expertise in different technologies like Network/Storage/Systems/Security and Integration
• Must have experience in deployment of Enterprise system deployment and management (Altiris , SCCM etc..) tools in large infrastructure.
• Must have experience in design tools like Visio , Flow charts , workflows and excellent documentation skills
• Work with customer and drive the current state analysis and documentation of systems monitoring and management capabilities.
• Must be ITIL v3 certified to understand the Service management based organization.
• Facilitate the formulation of an enterprise monitoring and management strategy
• Manage the delivery of an enterprise monitoring and management system per agreed upon strategy
• Ability to create custom polling solutions
