Job description / Role
ABOUT CLIENT:
A well-established oil & gas corporation of Middle-East.
JOB PURPOSE & SCOPE:
Participates in optimizing and formulating drilling and completion fluids as per the well program in order to improve well quality and reduce completion time and cost. Plans fluid requirements, maintains inventory, and reports on utilization.
- Samples and analyzes drilling mud at regular intervals as well as whenever required in order to ensure smooth and efficient drilling operations;
- Calculates and reports the daily low gravity solids percentages. Tests Oil Based Mud (OBM) upon receiving and sending to mud plant;
- Plans mud and chemical requirements based on drilling operational requirements;
- Ensures the mud testing equipment are available on location, well maintained and calibrated;
- Reports the daily and cumulative mud utilization and cost, estimation of mud lost, and addition of fluids;
- Recommends on the proper use of solids control equipment;
- Maintains an inventory of material and equipment related to own area of operation. Advises and supervises rig-crew during transfers;
Requirements
1. Higher National Diploma
2. Minimum 5 years in drilling and Workovers operations
3. Implements and promotes the company health, safety and environmental policy, procedures, regulations and objectives; and ensures, by appropriate monitoring and review, that work is performed in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
