Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is a UAE Based well renowned & Leading ship builder and support contractor for all Naval, Military and Commercial Operators in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) needs the following personnel for permanent employment. Candidates for these positions must meet the following requirements:

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for performing all Planned Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities of all combat system Electrical/Electronic Equipments and systems onboard assigned vessels, inclusive of weapon systems & sensors, under water sensors, navigation and communication Equipments etc.

Perform the following to meet different maintenance activities on-board ship Platform system/Equipments:
- Execute PM and CM as per the work order/Job card for all Combat system & sensors.
- Execute PM and CM as per the work order/job card for all Navigation system and underwater sensors.
- Execute PM and CM as per the work order /job card for all Communication Equipment and systems.
- Identify and report defects and abnormalities.
- Identify spares.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma/ITI in Engineering or Equivalent with 5/7 Years of marine / offshore experience in similar role.

Job-Specific knowledge and skills:
- Technical knowledge of ships
- Knowledge of how to read and comprehend technical specifications, drawings and setting to work and test and trials procedures.
- Knowledge of ships Combat systems and operations.
- Knowledge of General Power Generation and Distribution system.
- Knowledge of Weapon system & Sensors.
- Knowledge of Navigation system and under water sensors like echo sounder, speed log etc
- Knowledge and hands on experience of Communication system HF/VHF/MFHF/GMDSS, intercom, Portable Communication sets, signal lights etc
- General Electrical Safety
- Installation of and connection of specialist cabling
- Function Testing and sea Trials
- Should be conversant with Maintenance schedules, Technical Manuals and procedures.
- Should be able to trouble shoot the system; solve the technical issues related to various platform related systems.

Preference shall be given to candidates with hands on experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment onboard Marine/Naval ships.
