The RoleThe RoleMy clients continued success has resulted in a new opportunity for an experienced Network Engineer with a solid Cisco based skill set Experience: At least 4 years of networking support experience, and knowledge of: • CISCO routers; • HSRP, Multicasting, QOS, ACL's, Tacacs, Radius, SNMP; • Pix/ASA Firewalls including VPN, IPSEC; • Routing protocols like RIP, EIGRP, OSPF; • Cisco Switch Configurations including VLANS, Spanning Tree, Inter-VLAN Routing; • Fibre switches; • Proxy/web-filtering technologies; • Microsoft Windows technologies. |
RequirementsRequirementsKey Competencies • Able to work well in a close knit development team. • Focused on completing tasks and producing effective results. • Able to understand and use complex networking products. • Strong configuration management ethos. • Eager to develop personal and technical knowledge and skills. • Eager to improve processes and practices. • A solid understanding of best practices for network and data management. Candidates with the following experience will have an advantage, but these are not mandatory. • MPLS • VoIP • CISCO Call Manager • IPFX • Retail or financial industries. Key Performance Indicators • Network availability. • Network performance. • Network resilience. • To time and budget on network infrastructure projects. Qualifications • Degree level education or equivalent experience. • CCNP Key Outputs • Operation and support of the local and wide area network in conjunction with the outsourced WAN provider. • Network design - designing new topologies and improvements to the network in order support the growth plans and other strategies of the company. • Network support - level 2 network support. • Security - implementation of security to meet corporate security policy and best practices. • Configuration control - maintaining clear configuration information in a central repository. • Documentation - maintaining designs, descriptions and supporting information to support the ongoing design, deployment and support of the BH network. • Interaction with outsourced WAN provider (Redstone) to ensure high levels of service availability & performance. |
