The RoleThe RoleNurse Infection Control Practitioner – Turks and Caicos Islands Pulse International is looking for a Nurse Infection Control Practitioner for two brand-new hospitals in the Caribbean. The Turks and Caicos Islands – part of the British West Indies – are a group of islands in the ‘undiscovered Caribbean’, just one hour by air from Miami. They offer breathtaking scenery, with stunning beaches, coral reefs and some of the best diving, snorkelling and fishing in the world. There are around 300,000 permanent residents on the Turks and Caicos Islands and medical facilities are currently very limited. Two new Government hospitals, built and managed by a North American health care organisation, will open on the islands in April. Between the two sites there will be 60 beds (30 open on Day 1) and each hospital will have the full range of facilities including Theatres, X-ray, Accident & Emergency, Rehabilitation, Pharmacy and Dental Services. There will be a comprehensive Outpatient Department with specialist clinics. The new hospitals will offer the highest Western standards of care and expect to attain international accreditation within the first two years. All new employees will have a comprehensive orientation and will be active participants in the ongoing training and quality improvement programme. |
RequirementsRequirementsThe successful candidate should expect to be in post by 10 April when the hospitals open. He / she will be a Registered Nurse with at least five years post-registration experience, to include two years in Infection Control.
