The RoleThe RoleSpecialist that effective coverage is in place for emergency medical response, and facilitates medical transfers from site, ambulance services and emergency evacuations when necessary. • Assist Health and Hygiene Specialist with case management for injuries and illness, restricted work and return to work plan. Manages other medical visits including Occupational Health (OH) assessments, treatment and referrals. Conducts in-service consultations to staff on medical issues and preventive health measures. • Assist health and Safety Specialist to provide occupational health surveillance, including administration of health risk matrix and review/assessment of pre-employment physicals / fitness for work guidelines, as per Oryx policy. Implements a medical surveillance program that encompasses hazard identification and monitoring in conjunction with plant safety personnel. Monitors health of workers exposed to identify health risks. • Supports medical relationship with patients, contracted medical referral centers, OH Physician and contracted medical services. • Assist with the development, monitoring and evaluation of emergency medical and OH procedures, including appropriate protocols and medical directives along with contract OH physician. • Assist with development and implementation of immunization policy for Oryx staff (Hepatitis A & B, flu vaccine, etc.) • Assist with wellness programs for employees (e.g., Health Promotion, Home Safety, Medical Awareness, etc.) • Provides Data Input to computer based system for staff health records, vital statistics, HSE statistics and reports (e.g., clinic visits occupational and non occupational visits), etc. Prepares reports and statistics as required. • Administer First Aid, CPR and AED Training to all Personnel. Assist with all activities related to set up of the Oryx Health Center and procurement of medical equipment and supplies. Ensures that plant First Aid Kits and medical supplies are adequate and maintained. Participates in ensuring that “safe systems of work” and “safe conditions” are in place within area of responsibility. Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned by Health and Hygiene Specialist. Will assume the responsibility of the Health and Hygiene Specialist in her absence. |
RequirementsRequirementsTHIS IS A CONTRACT FOR 3 YEARS Educational Requirements / Qualifications: • BSN from an accredited School of Nursing. • Diploma and/or Certificate in Occupational Health is preferred • Current RN Licensure in country of origin; Occupational Health; BLS Certification & Instructor Certification • Excellent English written and verbal skills; very good computer skills for Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Medical data management. Experience: (Years required for an acceptable level of performance.) • 5 years recent experience as an RN; Minimum 3 years Occupational Health desired • Previous management/supervisory experience desired • CPR Training; BLS (Basic Life Support) • Experience in Industrial setting preferred. |
