Employment: Full Time

Our client, a reputable company is currently seeking to recruit Nursery Manager / Principal

The Principal’s primary role is to oversee the curriculum within the nursery and the developmental progress of all the children. She should also be responsible for providing the children in her care with a safe and secure environment where learning can take place. The Principal should also liaise with parents and establish a welcoming environment of a home from home within the nursery. She should support and aid members of her staff to gain the best out of each employee. The Principal is required to perform the following tasks on an on-going basis demonstrating professionalism, a responsible application of teaching principles and a positive attitude.

Organisation

• To be responsible for the resources within the nursery;

• Assure records of children are up to date and available for review;

• Assure files appertaining to the nursery up to date and available for Municipality Inspection.;

• Work together with staff to provide and fully manage occasional open days at the nursery;

• Help with staff development familiarising them with the curriculum;

• Be ready to defuse issues with parents before they get out of hand;

• Be an ambassador for the nursery making full use of inter personal skills;

• Work within a given budget for the nursery needs;

• Be responsible for workshops for parents on the curriculum and children’s welfare;

Requirements

Education

• Motivate and stimulate the nursery staff to ensure their best performance

• Maintain a teaching and learning environment through the curriculum and developmental programme.

• Assist with the development of the children's personal, social and emotional abilities

Development

• Be aware of changes in the curriculum and put these into practice.

General Practice

• Ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment.

• Ensure a safe and secure environment and be aware of Health and safety regulations

Minimum requirements

• A graduate with a BA in Education with teaching qualification

• Nursery manager experience

• Should have at least 3 years teaching experience and a sound knowledge of Early Years and Montessori
