The Role


The Occupational Therapist (OT) III evaluates patients' cognitive, perceptual, motor assets and liabilities and sets goals for functional performance anticipated at discharge. Provides goal-directed, activity-oriented treatment to promote optimum independence in self-care, functional mobility and life tasks. Ensures continuation of performance through effective education of patient and family. Provides adaptive methods and equipment as appropriate to enhance self-feeding, grooming, bathing, dressing, toileting, toilet and tub transfers, meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, telephoning, and transportation. May be involved in splinting and orthopedic treatment plans. Provides accurate documentation of patients’ evaluations, treatment plan of care and updates, patient/family education, team conference updates, progress notes, home exercise programs and discharge instructions. Functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team and will provide one inservice to the team annually. The OT III will provide professional, competent and culturally sensitive services to the staff, patients and families of the Humanitarian City.

Requirements


Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy academic program at point of hire.

Two years minimum experience in pediatric rehab/clinical setting preferred in OT practice.

Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.

Occupational Therapy Certification Board registration preferred.

Current BLS training or within 90 days of employment.

The City is a 400-bed Rehabilitation Hospital and Medical Center which opened 30th October 2002 to provide care to both inpatients and outpatients.

Our patients are provided with the highest quality of medical care by highly experienced physicians, therapists, nurses, and support staff. The facility covers more than 1,000,000 square meters, and is located just north of Riyadh in the Banban area.

The City provides therapeutic, supportive, and educational services which are designed to assist in restoring health and function following acute illness, and to allow for a safe return to a home-based family.
