Operations - Estimator
Salary up to AED 8,000 12,000
Sharjah, UAE

Our client is a manufacturing company based in Sharjah and is looking for a professional individual to join their expanding team.

The Estimator will play an important role to ensure the precise nature of costing for projects. Their role will entail studying drawings, estimating the quantity of materials, tools and accessories. In addition they will source material costings and cross check these against the inventory in order to plan and prepare quotations for communication to the client.

The Estimator should be qualified in Civil Engineering - with particular experience in Aluminum, in order to carry out the following responsibilities:
- Read drawings, estimate the quantity, materials, monitor the stock inventory, communicate with suppliers, obtain quotations from suppliers, estimate the quote, understand the project timelines and ensure right measurements and estimation through a full site visit
- Communicate quotations to senior management and client
- Collaboration with Finance Department
- Responsible for operations in the factory until productivity as per the set standards
- Through industry connections, negotiate best rates on materials
- Procure and estimate materials required to a tight margin in order to minimise wastage
- Full understanding of all elements, metrics and variables to calculate quotations, i.e.: Headcount, staff transportation, goods to transit, insurance, etc.
- Ensure best rates in the market by benchmarking and networking
- Ensure outstanding levels of manufacturing, materials management and inventory control
- Manage allocation of resources to achieve the project plan on schedule
- Responsible for interpretation of the engineering drawings to the staff and able to communicate the same to the clients verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of Steel, Stainless steel, all aluminum fabrication and related jobs besides glass
- Experience in other related activities such as painting, printing, cladding, carpentry and Flex/vinyl is beneficial
- Leading the team in co-ordination with other departments regardless of roles
- Adhere to the quality assurance procedures and ready to operate under stress.
- Periodic meeting with the supervisor, foreman and labor to ensure productivity is as per schedule and no mistakes
- The Estimator is encouraged to refer sales leads to the sales department
- People management and training where required

Requirements

- Bachelor degree in Engineering, with 5 years experience in a similar industry in UAE
- Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD
- In-depth knowledge and hands on experience in all Aluminum and glass production methods
- Good organization and coordination skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent managerial and leadership skills
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Personal Qualities
- Candidates should be independent, and pro-active as well as, resilient when exposed to a stressful environment
- Candidates must be prepared to travel to various customers
