The RoleThe RoleThe Manager - Operations works closely with the Head of Operations of AFS Custody in creating operational goals and ensuring the proper controls and procedures are in place to mitigate business and operational risk. He/She will minimize risk by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of custodial operational functions for all funds. He/She will also participate in the development and maintenance of relationships with the custodian and bank networks. Manages direct reports of less than five (5) Operations officers/analysts within custody operations and provides guidance on technical, business process, managerial and human resource issues |
RequirementsRequirementsMinimum ten-plus (10+) years experience in financial services. Recognised as a technical expert in custody operations or investment back/middle office management including strategic management of a like function and demonstrated extensive and effective team leadership experience. In-depth and comprehensive knowledge of Operations, Custody and Investment Management, Securities Lending, and related business / operational risk, MIS and compliance requirements. Extensive product knowledge and experience in domestic and international securities and their accounting, tax treatment & corporate actions. Proven ability to identify and proactively address issues/potential risks and implement timely solutions. Proficient influence skills, including ability to negotiate and execute strategies with peers and colleagues across organizational boundaries. At least 4 years of proven management experience with strong mentoring and coaching skills. Foreign and/or complex securities and/or SPV operational experience.
