Operations Manager - Hospital Housekeeping and Waste Management Services

Job description / Role

- Responsible for the overall management and leadership of the Company's Housekeeping and Waste Management Services Contract for 1 Hospital in Qatar.
- Manage and oversee all supervisors, housekeeping staff, and admin support staff. Total staff to manage will vary according to site, but can range from 50 200 staff.
- Report directly to the companys Senior Operations Manager for Hospital Services.
Develop, implement and manage the annual service plan and budget for the Hospital Site and meet all operational contract requirements.
Establish and maintain service relations with the client in day to day operations.
Analyze technical data to develop continuous improvement opportunities for the operations.
Responsible for all operational aspects of soft services within the Hospital, including the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of all activities of the Company within the Contract, to ensure that the company is compliant and maintaining standards of qualityas required by contract and also by any applicable Qatari Laws.
Overall operational control of the operational Budget, Annual Service Plan and all personnel.
Oversee and manage all personnel, operational costs including labor, materials, machinery, and all other costs necessary for the services.
Supervise and delegate responsibilities and duties to members of the team as needed to maintain operational excellence.
Ensure compliancy and meeting of all Qatari laws and Company standards, policies and procedures related to Health and Safety and Labor practices.
Manage the day to day performance of the operations and make continued improvements to service product standards as required.
Monitor Key Performance Indicators as required by the Service Contract, and implement corrective actions if these are not up to the contract required levels.
Implement and supervise the correct operation of all standardized Company's Hospital Cleaning Processes and Procedures to ensure excellence in the services.
Coordinate with the Soft Services Senior Operations Manager and support staff of the company for ongoing requirements related to Health and Safety, Training, and Purchasing needed in the day-to-day operations.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years experience in Managing medium to large Housekeeping, Cleaning, or similar service contracts, preferably in a health care environment
Demonstrated ability to take on increasing responsibility in a Soft Services environment.
Knowledge of Joint Commission on Accreditation requirements and standards is preferred.
BICS certification in Cleaning Operations is preferred.
In-depth knowledge of Soft Services (Housekeeping and Waste Management) operations delivery, preferably in a Health Care or similar Environment
In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
In-depth knowledge of Housekeeping Services productivity and best practices.
In-depth knowledge of Housekeeping Services accreditation requirements, such as Joint Commission on Accreditation (JCI) or equivalent.
Knowledge of Qatar laws/regulations related to Housekeeping and Waste Management Services delivery in a Health care environment.
Exceptional Interpersonal skills when dealing with clients and employees.
Exceptional communication skills to address concerns, conflicts and ongoing requirements of the Services Agreement
Excellent leadership and management skills
Able to handle a fast paced, highly ethical work environment
Able to make decisions in and independent manner within company and contractual requirements, and with a view for the overall good of the Company.
Able to write/discuss/propose recommendations for improvement.
Able to write succinct reports and undertake analysis of key performance indicators.
