Job description / Role
Charterhouse is working with a multinational company that designs, manufactures and services pumping equipment for the Oil & Gas sector. Our client is looking to hire an Operations Manager to join their growing office in Kuwait and help with the increasing work load.
Your key responsibility will be to oversee the daily operations and general activity of the O&G division. The initial team reporting to you will consist of an Applications Engineer, Field Engineer and a team of Field Technicians conducting services within Kuwait only. As Operations Manager you will be a customer focal point and use your expertise to manage client expectations and work in a fully autonomous role with your team. You will also have a key role in guiding strategy to aid both long term and short term growth of the company.
This role also requires you to oversee tender preparation and framework agreements for the contracts that you will ultimately oversee. You will manage and control the P&L of these multi-million dollar contracts and have budgetary control of recruitment plans.
Requirements
The successful candidate should be a qualified Mechanical Engineer with at least 5 years’ experience of working in oilfield services and more than 3 years in a supervisory or management position. It is essential you have hands-on experience of working on pumping or artificial lift equipment in the Oil & Gas industry. High levels of organisation to allow for the smooth running of a busy service team and good communication skills to deal with clients that are not always technically versed, as well as a multinational work force are also required. Arabic is preferred but not essential and any previous work experience in the Middle East in a similar role would be beneficial.
