Operations Manager - Oil & Gas - Doha, Qatar

Our client is an integral part of the energy sector in Qatar providing a wide range of engineering, procurement and construction services in the Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Disciplines and is well positioned as an EPC Contractor to carry out projects and maintenance services related to Oil and Gas, Infrastructure and Power Industries. This includes site surveys, detailed engineering studies, CAD, planning, scheduling, document controls, materials specifications, construction and testing & commissioning.

As Operations Manager your role and responsibilities will including the following:

Strategic:
- Develop Annual business plan and budget for the function
- Develop and establish procurement policies, processes, procedures and performance standards
- Conduct assessment of Efficiency, Quality and productivity in all projects

Operational:
- Proper implementation of contractual terms and conditions of the project
- Review and studies the project specification, contract drawings & BOQ items
- Develops and updates the Projects Register
- Review and obtain approvals for all the engineering works such as submittals, shop drawings, work execution plans etc.
- Attend meetings with the consultants, sub-contractors and client / main contractor
- Execute the work as per the approved work execution schedule
- Proper coordination between the suppliers and sub-contractors for timely supply of materials and execution works as per execution schedule
- Ensure proper allocation of materials, manpower and equipment throughout the project execution period
- Assume overall responsible for a successful completion and handing over of the project in a timely manner
- Ensure quality implementation by proper inspection & testing
- Ensure safety implementation by developing proper safety plan

Financial:
- Ensure the project cost is within the budget
- Approves costing and budgets for the overall as well as the specific aspects of the project
- Prepare evaluations in coordination with Cost control department

Functional:
- Proven track record with recognized international standard companies particularly in Middle East Operations & projects
- Experience in demonstration of project planning, performing, monitoring and reviewing all the functions
- A good understanding of local contract law is useful

Requirements

Education
- BSc or Engineering Degree preferably in Electrical or Mechanical or instrumentation

Experience
- 10 years of experience in a similar role with minimum 5 years in a managerial role

Functional Knowledge
- Proven track record with recognized international standard companies, particularly in Middle East Operations and Projects.
- Experience in demonstration of project planning, performing, monitoring and reviewing all the functions.
- A good understanding of local contract law.
