Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a capable individual to help a leading Construction Chemicals supplier to move into their next phase of development in the region. We are looking for a young talented, dynamic individual who is ready for the next step in their career. The individual must have had experience in setting up or extending a raw material production plant in the UAE and will likely come from a background in cement. An understanding of a broader range of construction materials and systems would be a significant advantage. Must have at least 2-3 years experience with the UAE.

Prime Objective:

To manage control and supervise operations which include production, procurement and logistics/warehouse.

Key Tasks:

1. Liaise, coach and collaborate with commercial employees in order to ensure best planning and to ensure customer receive products in timely manner.
2. Oversee import and export activities
3. Ensure commercial licenses and other relevant documentation are renewed and updated on time.
4. Ensure adherence to local and international laws relating to operation of a production facility (i.e environmental, health and safety)
5. Manage production workforce ensuring job responsibilities are clear and that appraisal and performance management policies are supported. Ensure that mandatory and professional training is completed and up to date for workforce.
6. Ensure work schedules and annual leave is managed in a fair, proper and efficient manner.

7. Manage and drive production to ensure systems and methods of manufacture are efficient and cost effective.
8. Manage and drive procurement of raw materials and finished goods to ensure best possible prices and service is obtained.
9. Ensure all transportation into and out of factory/warehouse is effective, well controlled and cost effective.
10. Ensure warehousing for raw materials and finished goods are managed correctly, especially regarding stock rotation, stock counting, and stock redundancy.
11. Control maintenance and purchasing of all equipment, building and packing.
12. Control of operating expenses of operations and prepare annual expenses budgets in conjunction with GM.
13. Clearly define and assign duties and responsibilities and authorities of all staff. All staff members must have MbO Targets and an updated detailed Job description to be completed by February each calendar year.
14. Supervise and guide and recruit where necessary, all subordinates in the execution of their work and conduct a Performance Appraisal with each subordinate by February on an annual basis, which will be used as a basis for measuring performance, promotions and to monitor requirements and progress in as far as any training/development program is concerned.
15. Manage planning and execution of extension to current production facility including costing, liaison with landlord and authorities to obtain relevant permissions.
16. Ensure compliance with the Company’s Quality Management Environmental Management and Health and Safety Management Systems.
17. Undertake such additional duties, which may from time to time be assigned to the employee in the discharge of his duties.

QA/QC

1. Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Management and Environmental Health & Safety Management Systems.
2. To undertake any additional responsibilities or duties as assigned by immediate Manager commensurate within the position.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor of Engineering
Knowledge in Purchasing/Logistics
Computer Literate and willing to upgrade his skills

Bilingual (English and Arabic)
Excellent Communication Skills

Preferable Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to effectively work in a multi-gender, multi-national work team; whilst displaying particular sensitivity towards cultural and ethnic differences.
