Employment: Full Time

This posting is for SPCo Operations Trainer position for Saudi Chevron Phillips Chemical Company (S-Chem) in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate would have demonstrated experience as a shift supervisor/work-up shift supervisor, or a minimum of seven years’ experience in petrochemical operations (with preference ethylene, metathesis, pygas, 1-Hexene experience).

The Operations Trainer will train a multicultural operations staff through classroom and field instruction. The Operations Trainer will focus training efforts for job specific certifications which will include training in preparation for the job specific certification, testing participation through the certification process, and facilitation of the testing. The Operations Trainer will also focus on developing new or improving existing training material to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operation of new and previous existing facilities in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The Operations Trainer will support the development of training plans and schedules for the Operations organization at the S-Chem facility.

The additional responsibilities are summarized below:

• The SPCo Operations Trainer is a safety and compliance role model and leader
• Proactive promotes safety, seeks out “at risk” behavior and conditions in an effort to achieve a goal of zero incidents
• Lead the certification effort to ensure compliance within operations team is maintained
• Ensure that training programs are compliant with industry standards
• This individual is accountable for operation of the unit by the Chevron Phillips Chemical “Tenets of Operation”, EH&S Procedures, Process Safety Management, Operational Excellence Processes, and operating within the environmental permit requirements
• Design and develop an appropriate SPCo training program with training materials for a variety of platforms (e.g. classroom, simulations, web-based).
• Active participant in Management of Change (MOC) process, follow up, and corrections as created.
• Develop training schedules for instructors and participants to ensure that all planned SPCo training programs are executed throughout the calendar year.
• Must be able to recognize opportunities for improvement on the plant processes
• Visibly and effectively interface with all positions within the organization
• Ensure that employee skills are fully developed, recognized, and utilized
• Openly support best practices and process improvements
• Maintain an open and effective communications on and across shifts within the department, unit leadership, other operating/functional support, and on-site contractors.
• Able to communicate effectively on issues across the organization

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills, trouble shooting, and conflict resolution skills
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications

Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in support of refining or petrochemical operations
• Supervisor or Leadership Experience
• 2 years of experience in the development and delivery of training materials
