Job description / Role
• Management of Oracle databases; and changes, releases, patches, minor and major upgrades.
• Handling of system issues related to Oracle databases, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and replication
• Monitoring and improvement of database performance and capacity utilization
Install, configure, upgrade, and manage all Oracle databases 11g+, including but not limited to development, user acceptance testing, training, production and disaster recovery servers
• Manage system issues, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and replication
• Implement and maintain database security, users, roles and privileges
• Perform database tuning, performance monitoring and capacity planning
• Monitor and improve database performance and capacity utilization to provide high database availability and redundancy
• Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
• Manage changes, releases, patches, minor and major upgrades
• Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required
• Provide support for all stages of database implementation and/or database related deployments
• Establish standards to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance. Perform reviews on the design and code frequently to ensure the standards are being adhered to.
• Evaluate Oracle, Oracle tools, and third party products to ensure that the environment is running the products that are most appropriate features and Oracle related products
Requirements
• 8+ years of IT industry work experience on management of Oracle databases
• Proven track record on Oracle 11g database administration and management on Linux environments including: development tools and practices, troubleshooting, data management, database design techniques and performance tuning.
• Proven track record in supporting multiple number of databases simultaneously
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise data architecture principles
• Understanding of Oracle database environment including: development tools and practices, troubleshooting, data management, database design techniques and performance tuning.
• Experience in configuring and supporting Oracle Data Guard, Enterprise Manager, Test Data Management, Database Vault, Audit Vault and Database Firewall and Database Lifecycle Management packs
• Understanding of and working experience in supporting Oracle e-Business Suite modules such as Financial modules (AR, AP, GL, FA, FSG and Discoverer), INV, PO, OM, EAM, HRMS, Payroll, LCM, iReceivables, iAssets, iProcurement, Asset Tracking and Learning Management
• Experience in implementations, conversions, integrations, extensions, customizations, reporting, data warehousing and BI
• Understanding of IT Service Management best practices such as ITIL
