Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

OVER ALL PURPOSE
The main purpose of this position will be to ensure efficient processes are in place and adhered to govern the assignment of work to contractors, assessment of contractor’s performance, accurate and timely update of fiber records, and the management of project budgets and construction cost elements. Position will also need to ensure that all construction activities are properly closed out, and construction is being performed and completed in the most cost-effective manner, in accordance with Ericsson standards & OHS practices.

INTERFACE
The Civil Works Team Lead shall maintain a direct working relationship with internal / external units related to the project, such as:
* Customer
* Service Providers
* Project Team/internal Stake holders

MAIN TASKS
* To provide leadership and direction to civil works teams and to
* Implement, monitor and review defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to manage and improve overall project performance.
* Establishes and manages processes governing the approval, implementation, completion, and close-out of construction projects;
* Closely manages contractor’s overall performance and provides regular reports on contractor performance;
* Performs construction activities utilizing the most cost effective mechanisms available and measures and reports team’s performance in achieving cost reduction strategy goals;
* Ensures compliance with all construction standards and updates construction standards as necessary to ensure projects are completed in the most efficient, cost effective manner possible;
* Verifies that applicable construction codes and safety regulations are being upheld;
* Establishes and maintains strong relationships with local agencies’ and municipalities’ permitting groups as well as building management companies;
* Maintains an invoice verification program on all contractor projects;
* Ensures fiber records are consistently and accurately updated in a timely manner upon completion of each construction activity;
* Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance; and
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
* To actively encourage safety awareness and good practices among all employees and service providers
* Ensure compliance with all relevant Ericsson Sourcing and Financial processes relating to OSP works

* To actively participate in project coordination with internal and external stakeholders
* Promote innovation and implementation of new ideas and best practices within OSP Implementation Team.

Requirements

COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or equivalent
* At least Ten years experience in the field of mobile telecommunications network rollout
* Past work experience in fibre optic cable installation and construction management is preferred
* At least three years experience in managing project teams
* Experience in financial management
* Experience in matrix management structure
* Proficient in written and spoken English as a business language
* Proficient in MS Office package and project planning software packages
* Negotiation Skills
