PMC Mechanical Engineer (Static & Rotating)

Job description / Role

Our client is managing the FEED Contractor to upgrade a refinery by building a new Hydrocracker and associated facilities and by revamping various elements of the existing refinery. The project is 70% greenfield and 30% brownfield. The new-build portions of the project will be designed to Shell DEPs.
The Contractors office is based in The Hague. The FEED will form the basis of a tender for full EPC implementation of the project. The FEED is due to be complete by March 2013.
Our client has been contracted by the operator to be the PSS (Project Support Services) Contractor.
The PSS scope is:
- FEED Contractor technical follow-up
- Certify FEED Contractor deliverables
- Licensor support
- Other support in areas like execution strategies, organization, procedures, QHSE, risk analysis, cost reduction, etc.
On the engineering side most of the work involves review of contractor deliverables and assistance in resolving contractor information and clarification requests including interpretation of Shell DEPs.
The work will involve interacting with the small client project team, the contractor FEED team and refinery personnel. Avoiding interpersonal conflicts will be an important attribute.
Equipment Engineer (Static & Rotating) JS
Engineering qualification, B.Sc or similar. Experienced engineer, 10 years+. Experience with Shell DEPs highly desirable.
- Review and comment on Equipment deliverables, e.g.:
* Equipment List
* Equipment specifications
* Long Lead Items data sheets
* Long Lead Items technical purchase requisitions
* Long Lead Items technical bid tabulations
* Capital spares list
- Clarification of DEP options and other queries

This is an URGENT position and the successful candidate should be able to start within 7 days of offer. The candidate will receive an excellent package of hourly salary, accommodation, flights and per diem.
