Employment: Full Time

DUTIES:
The PMO Manager leads the day to day activities of the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) and provides full support to the Program/Project Managers in their area of expertise.
The PMO Manager will assist in the provisioning of project schedules, cost and finance information to aid the Program/Project control and monitoring.
The PMO Manager will assist with the production of reports and ensure the data is correct.
The PMO Manager will participate in quality checks for a specific account; and work with the team on planning sessions.
The PMO Manager will use clearly defined procedures and will escalate issues when appropriate.
The PMO Manager will work within a structured team environment with some having line management responsibilities.
The PMO Manager will recognize they have authority for their own area within the organization and will act as a facilitator, mentor and coach to move the team forward individually as a lead contributor and providing direction to others in a team environment.
The PMO Manager will act with limited supervision in complex environments as well as anticipate client needs and investigate the underlying causes to determine short and long term solutions.
The PMO Manager will anticipate potential objections and prepare a case accordingly to influence others. The PMO Manager will also manage costs and profitability for work area and large projects.

Service Integration and Management (SIAM) PMO Manager will be responsible for the following:

• Define, manage, and oversee the portfolio management process across service providers
• Assist The Client with annual portfolio planning cycle
• Assist The Client in managing the project portfolio management process
• Assist The Client to develop project prioritization attributes
• Communicate project prioritization attributes to program managers and service providers
• Participate in periodic reviews of the portfolio
• Update portfolio planning tools with the outcome of the portfolio management reviews
• Participate in project planning cycle
• Escalate issues / concerns requiring client support to resolve, to IT Director, e.g. supplier conflict

In addition, as the senior PMO representative the PMO Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the PMO, maintaining an awareness of the broad program and informing/escalating to the IT Director as necessary.

Requirements

A minimum of 10 years in PMO environment with management responsibility, preferably in an outsourcing or consulting environment . Overall 20 years’ experience desired.
• Experience managing large projects or portfolios in excess of $10M
• Solid understanding of applications and infrastructure technology
• Excellent influencing and relationship management skills
• Capacity for managing several parallel initiatives, identifying and balancing priorities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to interact and communicate with vendors, project managers and to translate key messages for executive presentation
• Possess a strong team player mentality
• Flexibility - able to multi-task, adapt to change, and manage a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Have Initiative - assertive, high energy problem-solver, inventive, demonstrated drive for result
