Employment: Full Time

An International Contracting Company is seeking to recruit Package Managers for their Doha project which is a High Profile and 'Prestigious' build. We will consider expatriates and English/Arabic speakers for these roles.

JOB FUNCTION - A senior member of the project team with responsibility for delivery of the package to project requirements,. Including safety, quality, technical requirements, programme and commercial/contractual aspects of the package as well as understanding the Sub-Contractors own business and resources in order to manage the package effectively.

KEY OUTPUTS - Ensure delivery of package progress in line with main programme requirements. Delivery of safety and environmental management systems and package compliance with key elements subject to safety, environmental and quality audit. Ensure site accident frequency rate is below target AFR and targeting always zero accidents.

Support the site management team in the delivery of a defect free end product.

KEY TASKS - Manage the procurement process ensuring package scope is co-ordinated with other works packages and cost plan.

Ensure early engagement of the supply chain to contribute to design development and value engineering.

Ensure that highest possible safety standards are maintained at all times and that the appropriate safety culture is developed on site with the site team and sub-contractors.

Determine resource requirements and manage the package team – supervise and develop package staff and ensure competency of individuals to carry out delegated duties.

Manage and co-ordinate all package activities and work with other package managers to ensure works package interfaces are resolved.

Co-ordinate all departments and Sub-Contractors to ensure the outputs of each discipline are delivered to meet input needs of the package

Ensure the correct administration of the Sub-Contract terms to protect the business and avoid disputes

Monitor key stage programmes and provide all necessary progress reports for internal and external reporting functions.

Monitor the design process and work with design managers to maximise buildability and ensure all necessary approvals are in place to allow package to progress without risk.

Support the site management team to close out all issues raised by safety, quality and environmental reports and audits.

Ensure the Sub-Contractors have submitted all necessary method statements and risk assessments are appropriate and in place in advance of the works.

Attend /chair / minute all necessary internal and external meetings.

Any other reasonable task that may be required by the line manager.

Requirements

OCCUPATIONAL COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Safety, Environmental Management System
- Recommended Scaffold Inspection

Professional Qualifications: MCIOB, CEng, MICE, MRICS

Educational Qualifications: BEng(Hons) or BSc(Hons) Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Commercial Management / Quantity Surveying

IT: Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, ECDL, Power project, CAD, Build online
