Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Objective:

We are looking for a Paralegal for our Dubai office located in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). This individual will play a key role in carrying out substantive legal work to support the lawyers within our Banking and Finance department, reporting to the Head of Department. The role requires significant organisation and coordination and will require quick thinking and assertiveness to juggle conflicting priorities and manage the teams work effectively.

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Conducting legal and records research (e.g. legislation, judgments)
Contributing to legal opinion and articles on new legislation etc
Organising and contributing to the database of standard laws, judgments, regulations, precedents and providing appropriate updates to lawyers
Gathering client information and evidence and performing key work on legal documentation,
Assisting lawyers with document-based work such as drafting, amending and proofreading legal advice and opinion, preparing client document bundles, correspondence and emails
General administrative duties such as binding, scanning and electronic filing

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Good knowledge of legal practice.
Working knowledge of research techniques - Ability to conduct legal research such as researches on relevant statutes, rulings, precedents etc.
Excellent command of English language.
Ideally Western educated.
Previous legal secretarial experience within an international law firm desirable.
Local experience not essential but desirable.
