Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

We are looking for a Patent Administrator for our Dubai office located in the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC).

The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Managing the filing process and submittal of patent/design applications in the Middle East;
Managing and processing office actions received from patent offices in the region and submittal of responses to office actions at the patent offices;
Managing and processing the payment of official fees to the patent offices, including filing fees, substantive examination fees, publication fees, grant fees and annuity fees;
Managing and processing correspondence from/to clients, agents, patent offices and other team members with respect to different patent related matters;
Managing the translation process and preparing different types of patent/design related documents and forms in both Arabic and English ;
Managing the legalization process of formality documents with respect to patents/designs;
Managing/updating an internal docketing system with duties including action deadlines and reminders;
Researching and advising clients and other team members regarding relevant dates, patent terms, priority applications, ownership and others by researching appropriate resources, such as attorney reports, internal databases, external specialized patent resources and other related resources;
Conducting patent searches both locally and internationally using patent/design databases and official publications;
Managing the relationship and interfacing with the different patent offices in the region;
Updating records and team members about any official notifications issued by patent offices with respect to procedures, costs, etc;
Designing and maintaining an internal quotation system, summary sheets and schedule of fees;
Managing and processing invoices;

Requirements

The successful candidate should have:
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication both in Arabic and English (fluency is an absolute requirement in both languages).
Excellent research skills.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work with minimal supervision;
Proficient in MS Office .
Degree in Science/ Engineering desirable but not required.
IP/Patent knowledge in general (1-3 years Experience in IP/Patents is a plus but not an absolute requirement).
