Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

1. Basic Function and Scope:

Provides effective employee relations to Company employees in accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices. Advises supervisors and employees on various personnel matters. Overlooks the adherence to Company policies and established practices. Establishes and maintains internal procedures and ensures proper application.

2. Tasks and Duties:

a. Ensures that personnel activities are customer-focused providing quality and timely services with clear information.

b. Assesses employee expectations and needs recommends appropriate action or amendments to policies, procedures or practices.

c. Participates in exercises to gauge employee morale and recommends measures to maintain high morale and loyalty

d. Provides employees and supervisors with guidance related to personnel policies, regulations and practices, as requested. Fosters good employee relations with employees and line management.

e. Contributes to the overall professionalism of the Personnel Department by forming part of a decision making body with the HR Manager and other Division Heads in order to discuss proposals or recommendations which could have an effect on operating policies or procedures. Establishes and monitors the introduction of improved work methods and procedures.

f. Assists Line Management in establishing healthy Employee-Supervisor relationships.

g. Provides advice and guidance to line management on Company policy regarding the handling Grievances, Corrective Guidance and Disciplinary Procedures.

h. Will be required to participate in investigations.

i. Conducts Exit Interviews with leaving employees in a professional manner and extracts information that leads to improving the HR system.

j. When required provides guidance, support and training to Qatari National staff working under them.

k. Ensures proper setup and maintenance of personnel files and records. Ensures
confidentiality of personnel records and files and guards against unauthorized access for both printed and electronic material.

l. Carries out other similar or related duties such as liaising with local medical, police and other concerned outside agencies regarding documentation or information required, and ensuring the maintenance of the section's case log.

m. Is the primary contact for National Employees for all matters related to employee relations, referring to Company policy to achieve the satisfactory and consistent resolution of employee issues.

n. Work in Partnership with Line Management to proactively manage absence cases of employees, provide a monthly report on all absence cases. Investigate cases of unexplained leave, liaise with Medical Services when required to do so.

o. Supports the ER team to enhance the capability of line management to effectively deal with people management issues.

p. Participate individually and as a part of HR project teams to deliver HR support to strategic and key business objectives. Help to further develop standardized and/or streamlined procedures and practices

3. Work Contacts:

Internal frequent routine contacts with Company employees up to section head level to answer enquiries and obtain clarification and to ensure completion of files and records.

4. Independence of Operation:

Works according to established policies, procedures and professional standards. Supervisor is advised of ongoing progress. Completed work is subject to subsequent review.

6. Physical Effort:

None.

7. Work Environment:

Normally air-conditioned office environment, travel to other locations in Qatar may be required from time to time

Requirements

a. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent degree.
b. solid experience in Human Resources and case management
c. Language requirements; good written and spoken English, excellent written and spoken Arabic
d. Computer literacy including ability to operate Microsoft Office
e. Ability to deal with employees in a multinational, multicultural environment in a potentially agitated state of mind or emotional instability.
f. Ability to build relationships throughout the organization to develop partnering with various parts of organization
